This is a busy travel season For A Purpose. In October, Jim interviewed Cody Wilde, senior vice president of correctional programs for Prison Fellowship, to begin adding the voice of ministries and experts that bring so much experience to the topic of this film. Prison Fellowship’s ministries reach incarcerated individuals and their families (you may know of the popular Angel Tree Christmas gift drive). Some of the individuals touched by their programs are facing the greatest trials of their lives. We are so grateful to Prison Fellowship for their help and assistance to hold the interview in Phoenix at the chapel at Scottsdale Bible Church.
Next week, Jim will drive to Colorado to interview Dr. Jeff Myers of Summit Ministries. Dr. Myers is a renowned worldview and apologetics expert who has become one of America’s most respected authorities on youth leadership development. One of the biggest reasons for youth walking away from their faith is related to the topic of pain and suffering. Our youth are facing so many struggles in today's world and Dr. Myers' perspective will be most pertinent.
After that will be an interview with the Jesus Film Project in Orlando. This ministry recently completed their 2100th translation of the world’s most watched film. This evangelistic tool is now available in the Waodani language—60+ years after Nate Saint (cast member Steve Saint’s dad) was martyred while reaching out to the tribe with the Gospel. We are very excited for the Jesus Film Project to be a part of For A Purpose and all that they have to share about how God continues to work through their ministry and this story.
We thank God for all these wonderful developments! At the same time, our financial needs are growing as we take these steps forward and work so hard on the production of this important film. There are costs associated with each of these interviews. Each trip (with travel, hard costs, and assistants) can run between $1,600 and $3,500 per trip.
Do you know an individual, business, or foundation that might want to reach hurting people with a message of true hope? What about anyone looking to make an end-of-year charitable donation? If so, please connect us.
Please pray for the upcoming trips, including ease of travel and the safe arrival of all equipment. Also, most importantly, for what the Lord wants shared to come through during each of the upcoming interviews.
We are humbled and thankful for how God continues to move in this production, but remain on our knees in prayer as we work to show others the true hope that is available even in the midst of pain and suffering. Thank you for your prayers, your support, and the ways that many of you have reached out to us. We are so grateful for each of you! Please join us in praying for continued provision for the many needs of the film.
*Special thanks to Gail Kiehlbaugh for donating her time and resources to provide the photography for our interview with Cody Wilde.
